The Octagon is pleased to promote and nurture local artists through this community exhibition. This exhibit will be on display at the Octagon from June 6 – July 27. Please join us for the announcement of awards winners at opening reception on Friday, June 6, from 5 – 8 pm. This opening reception is being held in conjunction with ArtWalk in the Main Street Cultural District. The juror for the 2008 Community of Artists Exhibit was Ames artist and former Octagon Board of Trustees President, Cheri Schloerke. The exhibit will feature 86 works of art created by 50 artists from the central Iowa area. This exhibit always produces a show with a multitude of diverse media and artistic expression. The Community of Artists Exhibit is a wonderful opportunity to view a wide range of work by artists representing college students, retirees, emerging artists, and established professionals.
