Artist’s demonstration with Sally Rasmussen at the Octagon Shop

It’s time to celebrate Spring! Let the vibrant colors and fresh, beautiful designs of silk artist Sally Rasmussen inspire you for the coming season. Rasmussen creates original designs for her silk scarves, ponchos and banners and hand paints them using her richly colored dyes. The Octagon Shop will be showcasing her talent and techniques on Saturday, April 26, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Octagon Art Shop. All of Sally’s silk items will be available at a savings of 15% during the month of April!

After receiving the distinctive award of “State Art Teacher of the Year” in 2003, Sally has “retired” to become a full time artist.  She works from her studio in Clear Lake, Iowa.  

 “I started painting murals on the basement walls as a child. My bedroom was a purple experience. All thanks to a mother who bought me paints and gave me walls, barns and even their travel trailer to use as a canvas. Painting silks with rich bold color is my passion!” - Sally Rasmussen
