Supply List: Beginning Drawing
Beginning Drawing* with Jeff Diesburg Thursdays, 7 - 9 pm February 4 - March 11 (6 weeks) $95
This course will introduce students to the principles, vocabulary and techniques of drawing through in-class practice and lecture. The class-work will focus on observation and drawing from still lifes.
Materials:
· Drawing tools of your choice. A set of drawing pencils, the minimum requirement being a harder pencil or mechanical pencil and one with softer graphite for building dark values. Small vine/compressed charcoal, or conté, are options if you wish to use something other than graphite.
· Good eraser(s) are needed for both area and detail work. I prefer the hard white kind. Kneaded or art gum erasers are also good choices.
· Paper for sketching and thumbnails: a pad of newsprint or a sketchbook will do.
· Two to four sheets of white heavy drawing paper, 18” x 24” or larger. Look for something like 80 lb. Strathmore, Stonehenge, or Rembrandt.
· Drawing board at least as large as your drawing paper pad.
· Large clips or masking tape.
