The Site=0D=0A=
OCA is located at 427 Douglas Ave in downtown Ames. OCA uses three studio spaces for camp: the Big Studio (Dance Studio), the Hunziker and Adams Studios, located on the second floor. Occasionally we head to the basement to the Ceramics Studio for some activities. Weather permitting, OCA campers and staff walk to Bandshell Park located at 6th Street and Duff Ave for lunch and play time. OCA’s main phone number is 515.232.5331. For registration or after hour messages, the Education Director can be reached at extension 226. =0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
Drop off=0D=0A=
Walk your child into the Octagon Building, up the stairs (or elevator) to the second floor. Sign in your child at the front desk. All campers must be signed in and out by an adult. At this time, you can gather all information related to camp including field trip notifications. OCA staff members are always available to meet with you in person to discuss your child and make sure we are providing the best possible experience for your child.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
What to bring to camp?=0D=0A=
Parents should send a nourishing lunch every day and one small snack item, just in case. If your child has food allergies, let us know, as often times we will create edible art during the day! =0D=0A=

  =0D=0A=
Code of Conduct (Signature required by camper and adult on attached Emergency/Consent Form)=0D=0A=
OCA believes in providing children with a safe environment, free of physical or emotional harm or distress. Art camp activities require no previous art experience, only a desire to learn creative skills. OCA reserves the right to dismiss participants who display inappropriate conduct, which disrupts camp programming.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
To create a positive, engaging and warm environment, we have established the following guidelines for behavior:=0D=0A=
=0D=0A=
Campers are expected to listen to instructions from OCA staff, to be respectful to everyone. =0D=0A=

Follow the NO TOUCH POLICY*, No put-downs, teasing, name-calling or ridiculing is allowed. *With the exception of medical care or supervised interactive group games. =0D=0A=
Campers who do not follow these guidelines will be dealt with in a gentle but firm manner.OCA staff practices positive discipline and conflict resolution. Repetitive occurrences of behavior contrary to the guidelines may result in expulsion from camp, without a refund. =0D=0A=
Physically violent or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. Campers will be sent home immediately if involved in a physical altercation. =0D=0A=
=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=

  =0D=0A=
Refunds/Credits/Changes=0D=0A=
Refunds for cancellation are given only if the request is received at least two weeks prior to the start of the camp session, less a $15 administrative fee.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
Cancellations with less than 2 weeks notice will be issued a 50% credit, good for future camps. All refund requests must be in writing and processed through the Education Director.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
If you wish to change the schedule (i.e. move to a different week – summer only) you may do so, providing space is available for a $15 administrative fee.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
We will waive the cancellation fees and issue a full refund if accompanied by a letter from your physician. =0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
Illness and Accidents =0D=0A=
If your child has a minor injury at camp (small cuts and scrapes), we will administer basic first aid, and parents will receive an incident report upon sign out, describing the injury and actions taken.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
For more serious injuries, or if a camper complains of illness, we will contact the parent/guardian immediately. They will be expected to make arrangements to take the camper home. If neither parent/guardian can be reached, we will call the emergency contacts listed on the emergency form. In an emergency situation, we will call 911 and/or arrange treatment for your child.=0D=0A=
  =0D=0A=
Publicity=0D=0A=
OCA reserves the right to photograph campers and their artwork to publicize the program. If you wish your child’s image to be excluded from OCA’s publicity, clearly note this on the emergency form.
