Privacy Policy

We welcome you to the Octagon Center for the Arts website. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy apply exclusively to your access to, and use of, the website so please read them carefully and diligently. Your use of the website constitutes your acceptance of the website terms and conditions. We reserve the right to change or modify any of the website terms and the website, at any time. If we decide to change the terms, we will post a new version on the website and update the date of policy change. Your use of this website following the posting of changes or modifications to the Site Terms will constitute your acceptance of the revised website terms and conditions.


We strongly believe in providing you notice of how we collect and use your data, including personally identifiable information, collected from the website.

We collect and store information that you voluntarily provide to us, as well as data related to your visit to the Octagon website and usage.

We collect personally identifiable information (including, but not limited to your name, address, phone number, email address, and billing information) that is voluntarily provided to us by you. For example, you voluntarily provide personally identifiable information when making a donation, joining as a member, renewing your membership, signing up to receive newsletters, registering for a class/exhibit, and registering for an event. Information may be used for financial reports for the organization and viewed by board members, accounting firm, or other in-house use. Personal information is NOT sold to any third party.



Your payment and personal information is kept secure and safe. The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software,  is the industry standard and secures commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information so that it cannot be read over the internet, including credit card number, name, and address.

For any transactions on the Octagon website, which requires a credit card or debit card, the Octagon stores the last four digits of card number, the expiration date, the buyer’s name. We do NOT store the full card car number, pin number CVV number or any full-track data.


"Cookies" are simple text files stored on your computer for use by a browser. Certain Site features may only be available through the placement of a cookie, such as the use of "cookies" to assist in data collection and to track visitor Site usage and trends to help us better serve you. The use of cookies is a standard practice among Internet web sites; most Internet browsers permit a user to accept, decline or delete cookies.



All transfers and refunds must take place more than 2 business days (Mon-Fri) before the class or event start date. If client cancels less than 2 business days before class begins, payment will NOT be refunded. If extenuating circumstances occur, the Octagon staff must be notified as soon as possible, and the case will be reviewed. If person withdraws from class or event more than 2 business days before class begins, they will receive a 95% refund. A 5% processing fee is applied to all withdrawal refunds. If the Octagon must cancel an event due to low attendance or extenuating circumstances, refund will be paid in full within 5 business days.


You agree to indemnify and hold the Octagon Center for the Arts and its affiliates and their respective officers, members, employees, agents, licensors and suppliers harmless from and against any claims, actions or demands, liabilities and settlements, including without limitation reasonable legal and accounting fees resulting from or alleged to result from your violation of this Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.



If the Octagon Center for the Arts makes any changes or updates to the privacy policy, we will post them on the website to make users aware of any changes. Users are bound by changes to the policy when the user visits the site after such changes have been posted.
