Get Involved at the Octagon Center for the Arts

There are many ways to get involved at the Octagon Center for the Arts. Come visit us and enjoy the current exhibits on display, become a member, experience local art in the Gallery Shop, take a class or workshop in the education department, volunteer -- there's always events upcoming and work to be done around the building, participate in an exhibitteach a class, use our space for your event or meeting, donate supplies and equipment, or make a financial contribution

Volunteers are a key component of the Octagon Center for the Arts. Free public events, exhibits, and affordable art classes are only possible due to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our volunteers. Each year, over 500 members of the community come forward to help direct traffic at the art festival, staff openings and gallery talks, set up for events, repair the building, answer phones, organize files, hang coats, wash dishes, archive files, document art, prepare galleries between show changes, assist instructors during children's classes, and organize storage areas. If you are passionate about the arts, contact our Events Coordinator, Rhonda Scott, at 515-232-5331, email, or fill out our online formAll volunteers who dedicate 20 hours a year are eligible for a volunteer membership!
