Membership

We believe that art matters. Art pulls us together, makes us think, helps us express ourselves, and brings us joy.

Whether you are a creator or observer…a veteran artist or a first-time maker…regardless of your background or age, art matters. And art is for all of us.

What is membership and why is it important? We hope that people want to be part of the Octagon community because it makes them feel welcome, inspired, supported, and sometimes, challenged. We hope that people will feel they are a part of something bigger than themselves and they will feel a kinship with the others in the community –- united by a shared passion for the arts. We also think that we can do great things together that we cannot do alone.

Membership is community. And you belong.

Individual ($35) — This is a one-year membership for an individual adult (18 years old or older).

Household ($60) — This is a one-year membership for up to two adults in the same household and any dependent children or grandchildren under 18 years of age.

Artist ($25) – This is a one-year membership for an individual who self-identifies as an artist and is 18 years old or older.

Would you like to support the Octagon at a higher level? We simplified our membership to keep membership affordable to all. 2020 was a devastating year and additional support would be greatly appreciated. You can help by clicking the donation button below.

Business memberships have been phased out. We are now offering more options for business sponsorships. Sponsorships are a great way to support the arts on our community. Email us at director@octagonarts.org for more information.

If you prefer to join or renew by mail, you may send a check for the correct amount to: Octagon Center for the Arts, 427 Douglas Ave., Ames, IA  50010. Please be sure to write “membership” in the memo line.

Please give us a call with any questions, 515-232-5331 or email office@octagonarts.org.
